LX INTERIM LICENSE

Copyright (c) 2023-2026 Liqube Audio <www.liqube.com>
All rights reserved.

The final license for Lx is currently pending.

For versions of Lx distributed under this interim license, the following terms apply.

1. DEFINITIONS

"Lx Application" means the official Lx software as distributed by Liqube Audio
for end-user use, excluding its source code and documentation.

"Lx Portions" means original material authored by Liqube Audio as part of Lx,
including source code, documentation, modifications, and additions, but
excluding the underlying Lite Portions.

"Lite Portions" means portions of the Lx source code originating from the Lite
project by rxi and licensed under the MIT License, as described in Section 5.

A source file may contain both Lx Portions and Lite Portions. In such cases, the
respective license terms apply to their respective portions.

"Commercial Source Use" means any reuse, incorporation, adaptation, modification,
derivation, redistribution, or other exploitation of Lx Portions or modified
or derived versions of them, in whole or in part, for commercial advantage,
monetary compensation, revenue generation, cost reduction, or the development,
operation, or support of a commercial product, service, or business activity,
whether or not the Lx Portions themselves are sold or directly generate revenue.

Commercial Source Use applies only to Lx Portions and does not restrict
commercial use of the Lx Application as permitted under Section 2.

2. LX APPLICATION

You are permitted to use the Lx Application for both personal and commercial
purposes, including revenue-generating activities.

Use of the Lx Application does not require payment.

All users are highly encouraged to support the project through voluntary
donations, especially those who use Lx commercially or generate revenue with it.

All donations go toward funding the continued development, maintenance, and
improvement of the Lx project.

Donations are greatly appreciated, but are entirely voluntary and are not a
condition of use.

For clarity, commercial use of the Lx Application is permitted. This does not
grant permission for Commercial Source Use of Lx Portions.

3. LX SOURCE CODE AND DOCUMENTATION

You are permitted to access, use, study, modify, and reuse the Lx Portions for
personal and non-commercial purposes.

This includes incorporating, adapting, or deriving from Lx Portions in your own
non-commercial projects, whether kept private or publicly distributed.

You may keep your modifications and projects private. You are not required to
publish, disclose, or otherwise make your modifications or source code available
to anyone else.

Any reuse of Lx Portions is subject to the copyright and attribution
requirements in Section 4.

You are not permitted to engage in Commercial Source Use without separate
permission from Liqube Audio.

This includes, but is not limited to, using Lx Portions or derivatives of them:

* in a paid or commercial product or service;
* in commercial software;
* as part of internal business software or infrastructure;
* to reduce business costs or provide another commercial advantage;
* in commercial documentation or training material; or
* in connection with any revenue-generating business or activity.

Lite Portions remain governed by the MIT License as described in Section 5.

4. CODE REUSE AND ATTRIBUTION

Any permitted reuse of Lx Portions, whether in original, modified, adapted,
incorporated, or derived form, must clearly retain the Liqube Audio copyright
and identify Lx as the original source.

At minimum, reused Lx Portions must contain or be directly accompanied by the
following notice, or an equivalent notice containing the same copyright and
origin information:

Copyright Liqube Audio <www.liqube.com>
All rights reserved.
Original source: Lx by Liqube

Where practical, this notice must appear in each source file containing reused
Lx Portions. If file-level attribution is not practical, the notice must appear
directly alongside the reused code or in another clearly associated location.

Existing copyright and origin notices contained in reused Lx Portions must not
be removed, obscured, or misrepresented.

The attribution requirement applies to all permitted reuse of Lx Portions,
including modified versions and private or non-commercial projects.

Where reused code contains both Lx Portions and Lite Portions, both the Liqube
Audio attribution required by this section and the applicable Lite/MIT copyright
and license notices must be preserved.

5. LITE PORTIONS AND MIT LICENSE

Lx contains portions of source code originating from the Lite project by rxi.

Copyright (c) 2020 rxi

The Lite Portions are licensed under the MIT License.

Nothing in the Lx Interim License restricts, replaces, revokes, or supersedes
rights granted under the MIT License with respect to Lite Portions.

Lx Portions, including modifications and additions authored by Liqube Audio, are
not placed under the MIT License merely because they are contained in the same
source file or project as Lite Portions.

Where a source file contains both Lite Portions and Lx Portions, the MIT License
applies to the Lite Portions and the Lx Interim License applies to the Lx
Portions.

Copies or substantial portions of Lite Portions must include the applicable
copyright and MIT permission notices as required by the MIT License.

6. REDISTRIBUTION

You are permitted to redistribute Lx Portions, whether modified or unmodified,
publicly or privately, provided that the redistribution does not constitute
Commercial Source Use.

All existing copyright, attribution, origin, and license notices must be
retained and must not be removed, obscured, or misrepresented.

Redistributed Lx Portions, including modified or derived versions of them, must
remain subject to the Lx Interim License, and a copy of this license must
accompany the redistribution.

Lx Portions, including modified or derived versions of them, may not be
relicensed or sublicensed under different terms without separate permission
from Liqube Audio.

7. INTERIM STATUS

This is an interim license used for versions of Lx released while the permanent
licensing terms are being determined.

Future versions or releases of Lx may be distributed under different license terms.

Changes to the license terms of future versions or releases do not retroactively
alter the terms applicable to copies previously distributed under this license.

The license terms accompanying a particular version or release govern that
version or release.

The licensing of Lite Portions under the MIT License is independent of the
licensing terms chosen by Liqube Audio for Lx Portions.

8. NO WARRANTY

LX, INCLUDING THE APPLICATION, SOURCE CODE, AND DOCUMENTATION, IS PROVIDED
"AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, TO THE FULLEST
EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY
APPLICABLE LAW, LIQUBE AUDIO AND THE CONTRIBUTORS TO LX ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR
ANY DAMAGES, LOSSES, CLAIMS, OR OTHER LIABILITIES ARISING FROM THE USE OF OR
INABILITY TO USE LX.
